In music, Year 5 have been working on adding pitch to a rhythm. We have been using well known nursery rhymes and trying to work out the rhythm. We wrote the rhythms on to blank musical staff paper and then clapped them out to make sure they were correct. The the children added pitch to the rhythms in order to change the melody, we could use whatever notes we wanted as long as we started and finished on the same note. Finally, we got out the glockenspiels to play our melodies and they sounded really great!
