As part of our Design Technology unit of learning, Year 5 had to design and make brand new board games. First we had the research stage where we talked about board games that we already play and what they all had in common. We looked at some board games that we had in school and thought about what our design criteria could be. Next we had the design stage where in our groups we designed our own games from scratch, thinking about how our game would look and what the rules would be. Then we had the making stage, every group included either a moving part or an electrical circuit in their game. Finally we had the product testing and evaluation stage! I think we all enjoyed being product designers!
