For world book day this year, Year Four celebrated the works of C.S. Lewis. We read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and looked at the themes of The Magician’s Nephew. Through learning about Lewis, we learnt he was a devoted Christian who allowed his faith to influence his written work. Most notably in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Aslan the Lion has connotations of Jesus Christ and Mr Tummus is a representation of Judas.
We tried really hard to make some handmade aspects of our costumes ourselves, as well as coming up with new ideas for our book corner in class.
