Every Wednesday afternoon the Reception children have P.E. So far this year we have been developing our movement and spatial awareness, basic balls kills including throwing and catching, and playing team games which involve tagging and dodging. Some of our favourite games have been Duck Duck Goose, Fruit Salad, Knights and Dragons, Trains and Tunnels and Pirates! The children love their P.E lessons and look forward to them all week and I do too!

This week the children asked if we could do some climbing and some gymnastics, so I set up an obstacle course for them to complete. This was a wonderful opportunity for children to demonstrate their developing gross motor skills.

Later on we played a racing game where the children needed to jump between hoops, pick up balls and them jump back to their box, depositing the balls inside. It was a frenetic and exciting game which the children truly loved.
