Midsummer madness is upon us in Year 2 as we enter the magical world of  A Midsummer Night’s Dream in English.

The Year 2s have been absolutely gripped by the works of Shakespeare and becoming familiar with Elizabethan beliefs regarding midsummer.

We have been acting out complicated scenes to develop our understanding of this hilarious plot.

The children have been writing descriptive pieces about magical forests and portals that open up allowing human and fairy worlds to collide.

We are also counting down to summer solstice each day and learning why we get the longest amount of day light on June 21st.

Have you noticed any strange midsummer madness in your homes?! Perhaps Puk the mischievous hobgoblin has been visiting.
