Today in we celebrated international day! It was so lovely to see all of the children dressed up in the colours of their flags or in their traditional cultural outfits!
In DT, we have been learning how to sew. As part of our Viking and Anglo-Saxon unit of learning, we made some Viking pouches out of felt. First we researched what the Vikings used pouches for and what they were made out of. Then we designed our own version, decorating them with Viking runes. Today, we were at the making stage where we finally sewed them using a template and thread. At first, we found it quite hard to get the stitches right but we got the hang of it. We added a drawstring to them and then they were done! Next, week we will evaluate our pouches.
