Year 2 got to show off their ‘great fire of London’ knowledge on our trip to The City of London.
They really were on fire!
What an incredible day we had thanks to the truly wonderful charity Wren 300.
We were met outside St Paul’s Cathedral where we admired Christopher Wren’s master piece. We retold and acted out the story of the great fire as we walked around the streets of the City of London.
We admired landmarks and re-enacted ways the fire would have spread and would have been attempted to be put out; using buckets filled from The Thames.
We ate our lunch in a Christopher Wren church where we also dressed up as key historical figures.
We finished our trip by being architects and building our own cities! Most incredibly, we were allowed to write and draw with quills in Christopher Wren’s very own Temple Bar. What an honour.
