Last Friday the Reception children visited London Zoo.
We first walked to Pratt Street in Camden and then waited patiently for the bus. Next, we boarded the bus carefully and travelled to London.
Once inside the Zoo, we explored many of the different areas including the Gorilla Kingdom, Tiger Territory, Camels, The Farm and finally the Land of the Lions. The children were incredibly lucky during this time, as they saw baby gorillas and three tiger cubs! We also petted the goats in the farm and saw two huge camels!
Next, it was lunchtime at the pirate ship playground, followed by a workshop titled – ‘There’s a Lion in my Garden!’ The children were wonderfully behaved during the workshop (as they always are). We learnt all about India, Gir National Park and Asiatic Lions.
Finally, we saw Zebras, Giraffe’s, Lemurs and even the penguins.
No wonder we arrived back at school a little later than expected!
It was a truly wonderful day with a wonderful group of children.
