This week in Nursery, we practiced counting and making a number line to 5, using Numicon, pebbles and numerals.The aim of this activity was to recognize the numbers 1-5 in different forms. Also, to develop an understanding of the concept of quantity and build counting skills in one-to-one correspondence. The children were able to place the pebbles on Numicon tiles, counting them out loud as they touched each pebble.
The children worked together to build a number line to 5, arranging Numicon tiles and numerals in sequence. This hands-on activity allowed them to visualize the progression from 1 to 5 and understand the order of numbers.
