In Year 5 we have been learning all about Earth and Space. We have learnt that our universe is ‘heliocentric’ which means the sun is at the centre and all of the planets orbit around it. We also learnt about the order of the planets in relation to the sun and learnt a saying to help us remember – ‘My Very Eager Mother Just Served Up Noodles’. To demonstrate this, we went to the hall and were given a challenge to order the planets in groups. Each person represented a different planet or the sun. After that, we represented the different speeds in which the planets orbit the sun and some of us got very dizzy!
