This week in Art, Year 4 dived into the world of Japanese artist Hokusai, famous for his iconic work The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Inspired by this masterpiece, the children combined creativity with teamwork to craft their own three-dimensional sculptures of The Great Wave using card. Through careful layering and texturing, they brought the wave to life, learning about composition, movement, and the importance of detail. It’s been a fantastic way to explore Hokusai’s legacy while building practical skills and an appreciation for Japanese art.
