This week in Nursery, we learnt about the concept of subitising with the number 3.

Subitising is the ability to recognise the number of items in a small set without counting them individually.

We began our daily lessons by introducing the children to a large dice and focusing on recognising the dots for numbers 1, 2 and 3. After the dice activity, we became “maths detectives” and search around the classroom for things that represent the number 3.
