This half term, Year 5 have been benefitting from Wellbeing Workshops run by the NHS. Two mental health practitioners called Sahar and Andrea have been visiting us every Wednesday afternoon to talk to us about calming techniques and how we can show compassion to ourselves and others. We have learnt about our brain’s emotional regulation system called ‘Drive Threat Soothe’ and how that can help us in our every day lives. We also learnt strategies we can use to calm ourselves down and to help us when we are feeling upset or angry. The workshops are really enjoyable!
