This term in R.E, Reception is unpacking the Easter Story and its importance for Christians. When learning about the Last Supper, the children not only explored it’s significance and the idea of Holy Communion, but also baked bread! The children had a fantastic time measuring, mixing, kneading, and shaping the dough, using flour, salt, yeast, water, and olive oil. We even added olives to give our bread an extra special flavour! This sensory experience allowed the children to connect with the story tangibly, enhancing their understanding of Easter traditions. The children were very proud of their delicious, freshly baked bread, and enjoyed eating it too!
