Year 2 enjoyed playing the African djembe drums this week in school.
Our visitor Kwame came to school in honour of celebrating Black History Month.
He showed us how to play the drums. The year 2s were able to keep a steady beat and also play some very uplifting rhythms.
Everybody got a chance to be in his 4-piece band whilst the rest accompanied them.
There was drumming, dancing, singing and a lot of smiling.
Thank you for allowing us to enjoy the rich culture of African drumming and appreciate the beauty of the djembe and collective music making.
