Year 2 took part in a Caring for Animals workshop at The London Zoo this Friday.

We learnt how the zoo are able to consider the wellbeing of animals to ensure they thrive at the zoo.

We learnt that animals, like humans, depend on having the correct diet, good health, a suitable environment, fun and friendship.

After our workshop, we had time to explore the zoo and consider how the animals’ wellbeing was being considered.

We also paid close attention to the location the animals are found in the wild, which will help with our geography lesson next week.

This will all tie in nicely with our new book next term, Zeraffa Giraffa and our Science unit all about animals.

Ask your children why some animals are endangered. Can they remember how the zoo looks after animals?
