Oh no! The princess in our story has been caught in a snow storm and can’t continue her journey!
Can the Years 2s help make her make a shelter?
Year 2 loved designing, making and evaluating their igloos.
They had to design and make a shelter fit for a princess who was stuck in a snowstorm; as inspired by our book Princess and the White Bear King.
They researched igloos as used by Inuit people in the arctic.
They used clay to make bricks, had to have a dome shaped roof and a make a curved and accessible doorway.
They painted the clay white to look like snow.
The process was incredibly fun and their evaluations showed how reflective they are.
