For our Storytelling Session this week, Reception focused on the Three Billy Goats Gruff story!

Jason narrated the story, while the children helped to act out some crucial scenes, added voices to the characters, and modelled the three goats crossing the bridge. Jada and Noah also did an excellent job portraying the evil troll, who tried to eat each of the billy goats!

Storytelling sessions are a lot of fun for both children and adults. We always start with some songs and activities involving actions and gestures, before moving into the story and incorporating rhyme, alliteration, and different voices to make it as engaging as possible.

Storytelling is also an excellent opportunity to maximize student engagement, encourage creativity and individuality, and develop the children’s communication and language skills.

A final thank you to the parents who stayed for the session—I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
