What a fun and busy week we have had in Nursery! Our role-play area was transformed into a Chinese restaurant, where the children had the chance to role-play real-life experiences. We explored different types of art by drawing in our special art books and using the Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) to design lanterns and dragons, which are important symbols of Chinese New Year.
We also read the story of Superworm, which ties into our unit of learning on “Heroes and Heroines.” To bring this theme to life, we went digging in the garden area to find some worms. After some hard work, we managed to find a few wiggly, squiggly worms, which we carefully brought back to the classroom so we could look after them. The children brought leaves from the playground to feed them and even sprayed them with water, learning that worms enjoy moisture to stay healthy.
