In nursery this week, children were introduced to the concept of magic through a hands-on learning activity. They began by creating a “magic spell” using baking soda and vinegar, which demonstrates a chemical reaction that mimics the fizzing and bubbling of a magical potion. Next, the children designed their own broomsticks, using creativity and imagination to build the broom of their dreams. Afterward, they used the broomstick in role-playing scenarios, where they acted out magical adventures and engage in imaginative play. This activity combines science, creativity, and pretend play, fostering both cognitive and social development in the children.
We explored all of these fun activities as our core text book this week was the fantastic Julia Donaldson story ”Room on the Broom”.
