Year 2 have set the stage.

It’s 1666. London. A fire has broken out in a bakery on Pudding Lane.

We learnt about the plague which had tortured Londoners just one year previously.

We  acted out how the fire broke out.

We know the fire spread because London was hot, dry  and windy.

We learnt that houses at the time were particularly flammable as they were made from wood and straw.

There were no hose pipes; just water squirts and buckets!

So now you know… how about quiz them this weekend?!
