Mary Seacole’s portrait went missing… again! And who better for the job to find it than our Year 2s?
Year 2 enjoyed their trip to the National Portrait Gallery this week. Luckily, they found the missing portrait… phew.
We were very lucky to have our own workshop in the brand new NPG’s Learning Room. Our Year 2s got to show off their recently acquired history and art knowledge whilst getting a deeper understanding of who Mary Seacole was and why she has her portrait hanging up in such a prestigious gallery.
Mary Seacole broke social rules and prejudices to travel the world, run businesses and help those in need – even in the most dangerous places. She was an incredible woman and inspiring role model and we are so pleased we get to learn about her.
