New classroom, new teachers and some new children! The reception class has made a wonderful start to the new school year. We have been blown away by the engagement, behaviour and enthusiasm for learning they’ve shared with us already.

This week we have been focussing on settling the children in, reminding them of the behavioural expectations and routines, and introducing our new Unit of Learning. The children have also been doing daily phonics, maths and literacy lessons.

However, what has impressed Amy and me the most is their independence during independent exploration and tidy-up time. Our new children are creative, imaginative, and engaged learners and their play certainly demonstrates this! They are also excellent during tidy up time – I think we might have Dita to thank for that!

There are a few photos of the week below, but this doesn’t truly show just how much learning has taken place already!
