On Thursday, our Reception class embarked on an exciting adventure to the Science Museum in South Kensington! The journey itself was an experience, as we walked to King’s Cross St Pancras station and took the Piccadilly line all the way to South Kensington. The children loved spotting the different stations along the way and showed great enthusiasm throughout the trip.
Once we arrived at the Science Museum, we took part in two fantastic activities.
🔹 The Pattern Pod – Our first stop was this multi-sensory gallery, where the children explored patterns in the world around them through interactive displays and hands-on experiences. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they discovered shapes, sequences, and designs in a fun and engaging way!
🔹 The Garden – Next, we visited this interactive play space, designed to introduce young learners to science through exploration and discovery. From water play to construction zones, the children had a brilliant time experimenting, investigating, and using their curiosity to guide their learning.
The day was filled with laughter, learning, and adventure, and although the children were quite tired by the end, their behaviour was impeccable from start to finish. Taking young children on trips can sometimes be a challenge, but this class never fails to impress us with their responsibility, kindness, and fantastic listening skills.
A huge well done to Reception for being such wonderful explorers, and a big thank you to our staff and parent helpers for making this trip so special!
