In Science this week, we were learning about solubility and what factors affect whether something would dissolve in water or not. We wanted to find out which items found in the staffroom would be soluble. First we made our predictions, most people predicted that the tea and coffee would dissolve but the flour would not. We thought about how to make sure it was a fair test and we needed to make sure we used the same amount of water in each cup as well as the same amount of solute. Finally, we began to stir in the solutes and observed to see what would happen. Then we recorded our results onto a table. Year 5 are becoming very good scientists!
