The Reception children were encouraged and supported to write their own stories this week. These stories were completed over a number of days with some children writing their stories completely independently and some others requiring limited support from an adult. The content of the children’s stories was all created by them, although they did share some of their ideas involving volcanoes, zombies and gymnastics (these three topics were very popular for some reason!)
The children have since obsessed over these books and continue reading and contributing to them as they see fit.
We are already planning what stories to write next!
