This week, year six tested Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. They were split up into separate bird conservations so that they could conduct an experiment that simulated how certain birds adapted to the Galapagos Islands. They used a variety of items such as cups, spoons, clothing pins and scissors to determine how effective each item could be when collecting objects in a metal bowl.

After recording the number of objects collected, our children then deciphered the information to identify the characteristics that would help a bird find food more efficiently.
