We have been reading the book ‘The Rainbow Fish’ in Reception this week.
As part of our learning about the story we looked at ‘What makes a rainbow?’ alongside our keywords ‘dazzling’, ‘gorgeous’ and ‘delighted’. I’m sure we all feel delighted when we see a dazzling, gorgeous rainbow!
The children learnt about how two types of weather cause a rainbow to form, sun and rain! We also talked about the different colours of the rainbow, including indigo/purple and violet/pink. Afterwards, I challenged the children to make a rainbow by working in groups to collect items for each colour.
