This week in Reception we have been reading the story ‘The Kings Pants’. Alongside this, we have been learning about the current King of England – King Charles and exploring our Key Question, ‘Who is the King, where does he live and what is a ‘coronation’? The children have thoroughly enjoyed reading this story (as well as another funny story, ‘The Royal Nappy’) and learning about King Charles.
This all culminated on Thursday. When the children and I returned from lunch we found many pairs of pants scattered around our classroom. It looked like someone had been having a PANTS PARTY! This all needed to be tidied up, so the children found all 20 pairs of pants, counted to check that we had the correct amount and then sorted the pants based on their colours and patterns.
Finally, we learnt two new keywords – ‘terrific’ and ‘marvellous’. The children went on to decorate some pants of their own – making sure that they were as terrific and marvellous as possible!
