This week, year six were invited to the Waitrose culinary school to learn where their food comes from and how to prepare a dish that it is both healthy and delicious. They learned that different ingredients are grown around the world and discovered new flavours that were derived from spices grown outside of the United Kingdom.

Our students discussed how certain ingredients such as avocados are grown in warmer climates and that certain vegetables are grown in the U.K. because of the milder weather conditions of Great Britain. Most importantly, we learned that cooking is a lot of fun because we can tailor our dishes so they are aromatic, attractive and full of flavour.
