This week, Year 3 had the privilege of visiting Regents Park for an orienteering school trip. They learnt how to use compasses by putting ‘red Fred in his bed’ to find north. They then did some orienteering, following instructions that told them what direction to walk in and how many steps. They followed different routes such as the red route and the black route. In the afternoon, they filled out surveys that tracked how many different people were running through the park, walking through the park, cycling through the park etc. This trip linked to our Geography unit of Rainforests because we compared the local woodland to the Amazon Rainforest.
