It’s Spring 2! Our new Units of Learning are ‘Space’ and ‘Magic, Witches, and Wizards.’ To support these units, we will be investigating some of my favourite stories: Whatever Next, Beegu, and Room on the Broom. While exploring these stories, the children will begin learning about planet Earth, astronauts, and our solar system. In Phonics, we will continue exploring Phase 2 sounds, identifying initial sounds in words, and playing oral blending games. The children will deepen their understanding of numbers up to 5 and represent these numbers on their fingers. We will also begin exploring 2D shapes. Finally, in R.E., the children will explore the big question: ‘What is so special about Easter?’
